Clapham Common

A huge THANK YOU to everyone who joined us at Clapham Common on Saturday!

We had over 120 shepherds, kings, penguins, reindeer, santas and angels running 5k around a very sunny Clapham Common, before enjoying some mince pies and mulled wine afterwards.

The CAFOD Nativity Run costume awards included the most authentic costume, going to our shepherds; best running ability despite a cumbersome costume, which went to CAFOD campaigns staff who'd come as loaves and fishes; and most creative costume, which went to the supporter dressed as a giant Babybel cheese!

But completing the 5k in fantastic costumes wasn't the most festive thing our Nativity Runners did…

By running and raising funds for CAFOD, these supporters really have transformed lives by helping us to be there for malnourished mothers and children when food is scarce. Together, we can support a feeding centre in West Africa that screens, treats and provides follow-up care for 167 mothers and 1083 children every month.

Our brilliant runners have made a difference and given hope this Christmas – what could be more festive than that?

If you'd also like to register your interest in coming along to next year's run, or even holding your own festive 5k for CAFOD with our support, please get in touch at cafodchallenge@cafod.org.uk

Fantastic runners in the north also supported CAFOD over the festive season at the Bollington Christmas Fun Run and the Liverpool Christmas Fun Run. These will be held again on Friday 27 December this year, so get in touch if you'd like to take part!
