Donate to the Philippines Typhoon Haiyan appeal
Typhoon Haiyan – one of the strongest ever to make landfall – swept across the Philippines on Friday 8 November, leaving a trail of massive destruction in its wake. Over 14 million people have had their lives torn apart. Power, transport and water systems have been severely disrupted.
What are the needs?
The people affected are in great need of food, shelter and safety, as well as blankets, clothes and other essentials. Please give today to help us reach the most vulnerable people.
What is CAFOD doing?
Our trusted local partners are on the ground in the worst hit areas, responding to the most immediate needs. Our partners Caritas Philippines and CRS have been delivering aid to thousands of survivors of Typhoon Haiyan, working through local parishes. Our church networks in the Philippines are extensive, and are proving crucial in getting aid to those who need it.
“The Church is a beacon amongst the broken ruins of our homes. People see priests and the Caritas volunteers distributing food and water.”
- Father Alex Opiniano, from the parish of Santino in Tacloban.
In the unlikely event of income exceeding need for this appeal additional monies will be allocated to other urgent emergencies.
