Show your face to the G8
With only three days left until the Big IF G8 Rally in London, it’s time to make your final preparations. This includes getting social with the Big If Facebook app to show your face to the G8 when they arrive in the UK.
Register for the Big If G8 Rally in Hyde Park on 8th June >>
The big day is nearly here, and it is set to be the largest event of its kind in the UK since Make Poverty History in 2005. It’s time to book your coaches, prepare your packed lunches and make sure your face is right where the G8 can’t miss it.
The Big IF Rally Facebook app is here to make sure your message to the G8 is amplified for all to see. The app will connect with your Facebook page and allow your face to be projected on to the big screen at the rally. Your message, plus the photo of your face on the big screen will be posted to your Facebook or Twitter account after the event too.

The Big IF G8 Rally has been organised to coincide with the arrival of the G8 in the UK, and is the same day as a summit hosted by David Cameron that could secure key commitments on malnutrition in the run-up to the G8 Summit next week. This is a unique opportunity for us to stand in solidarity and demand world leaders act on hunger.
The day will kick off at 11.30am with an ecumenical service at Westminster Central Hall with Arch Bishop Vincent Nichols (arrive soon after doors open at 10.30am to guarantee a seat!). Then it’s time to grab your special Big IF Rally T-Shirt and join the Walk of Witness to Hyde Park (or come straight to the park any time from midday, where CAFOD staff and volunteers will be waiting to greet you.)
In the park you’ll have the opportunity to enjoy a children’s area, with face painting, professional story tellers, buskers and more; plus contribute to a huge visual petition of 2 million petals, on 250,000 spinning flowers, that represent all the children who die every year from malnutrition.
From 3 – 5pm you’ll hear inspirational speeches from former Archbishop of Canterbury Rowan Williams; philanthropist Bill Gates; CAFOD ambassador and Homeland star David Harewood; and broadcaster Natasha Kaplinsky. Not to mention celebrity comperes Myleene Klass and Gethin Jones, music from Grammy award winner Angelique Kidjo, and more!
If you haven’t registered yet there’s still time – sign up today! >>
If you have registered then make sure you’ve booked your coach >>
If you can’t make it on the day, then follow the action live on Twitter using the hashtag #BIGIF or join us in a minute’s silence and reflection at 4:30pm.
