An estimated 8,000 people are fleeing Syria every day. Today, on World Refugee Day, please keep them in your prayers.

The UN estimates than 1.6 million people have fled into neighbouring countries to escape the war in Syria. But with many refugees unable or unwilling to register, the actual figure is believed to be far higher.

“The numbers of Syrian refugees arriving in Lebanon is growing in an incredible way,” says Fr. Simon Faddoul, the President of our partner Caritas Lebanon. “The situation is getting worse. It’s becoming disastrous.

“I appeal to all good-hearted people to please, please listen to the suffering of the Syrian people inside Syria and in neighbouring countries. We need every bit of help we can get to reach out to these people until they can return to their homes.”

Thank you

In the last three months, you have raised more than £1.5 million for our Syria Crisis appeal. Thanks to your amazing support, we are working with local Church organizations in Lebanon, Jordan and Turkey to ensure that newly arrived refugees have food, medical support, clothes and safe places to stay.

Please keep the people of Syria in your prayers, and please support our Syria Crisis appeal>>
