This bank holiday was a fitness challenge for many of our supporters, as record numbers pounded the pavements for CAFOD in the Great Manchester Run and the  Bupa London 10k.

One of the biggest running teams we've ever had assembled in the Sunday sunshine to take part in the Great Manchester Run, with staff and volunteers on hand at the CAFOD cheering points to encourage them on as they passed.

The 60 participants included lots of students took a break from exam revision to take part, with large teams from Aquinas, Loreto and Cardinal Newman sixth form colleges running in the CAFOD Green.

The post-race reception held near the finish line at Deansgate, Manchester, was a great opportunity for the Events Team to meet and greet the runners in person, and thank them for their training, hard work and time given to fundraising for our work.

Then it was down to London for the Bupa London10k where Team CAFOD took part in surprisingly good Bank Holiday Monday weather, finished the scenic route on the Mall, and spotting Mo Farah on the way.

Hannah Patterson, our Events Co-ordinator, said on the day 'It's fantastic to see so many people here running for CAFOD, this really shows how committed our supporters are to raising awareness and helping those most in need overseas. It's a brilliant day out for everyone involved!'
