After getting in the spirit and donning fancy dress in the Christmas Fun Run last December, the family duo are looking forward to being joined by many family and friends at the Great North Run, the annual half marathon that takes place each September in Newcastle.

 Ben Oldham, who works within CAFOD’s direct marketing team, is hoping the element of family competition will be spurring him on to a decent time, though he admits

 “I am already regretting roping him in as I can’t keep up with him! I ran the GNR in 2011 and really enjoyed it. There is a carnival atmosphere on the day and it was the first time I met John “the barefoot runner” McBride and his sore feet and if you need some additional motivation to take on a challenge event check out this video.”
