Salary: $10,557 - $13,116 (depending upon experience)

Job profile

The goal of the post is to strengthen partners’ ability to manage and deliver quality emergency preparedness, response and recovery programmes. It aims to raise awareness, commitment and understanding of humanitarian principles and standards across partners.  The post holder works within the Asia Middle East, Latin America and Caribbean Humanitarian team in CAFOD’s Humanitarian Department and provides support and accompaniment to CAFOD’s Pakistan floods response partners dealing with new and ongoing humanitarian crises. The post holder will monitor, support and address the ongoing programmatic and capacity building needs of local partners.

Job role

You will be responsible for providing professional humanitarian support to new and ongoing humanitarian crises including emergency preparedness and disaster risk reduction. You will work with and alongside CAFOD partners in providing support, expertise and building long-term capacity. You will also be responsible for representing CAFOD externally and communicating about our humanitarian work while ensuring humanitarian and emergency programme quality, systems and standards, particularly in the area of protection.

Your profile

You should have the skills and experience to work with and build the capacity of local partner organisations/ national NGO’s. You should have demonstrable skills in providing humanitarian skills and support within a variety of contexts including development, complex emergencies and humanitarian programmes. You should have a sound understanding of humanitarian policies, best practice and international humanitarian policy debates and an ability to deliver operational emergency programmes, working in support of community-based organisations. We also expect you to have sound experience of working with, and/or a commitment to humanitarian standards.
