CAFOD believes partnership with local organisations is the best way of expressing the Catholic community’s solidarity with the world’s poorest and most disadvantaged people. In England and Wales we inspire Catholics to challenge global poverty, to support the work of CAFOD, to campaign and to pray.
Support inspired by Major Gifts fundraising has grown significantly in recent years and there is an ambitious plan to grow further. We seek an inspiring leader for a dynamic and creative team of nine responsible for contributing £4m per year.
You will be able to lead your team fundraising across varied audiences: High Net Worth Individuals (HNWIs); private businesses; philanthropic trusts & foundations and leaders of Catholic Religious orders and Associations.
You will secure new partnerships and significant gifts, setting an example by directly holding a small number of individual relationships.
You are expected to work as part of a well-established and strong Fundraising Management team and contribute to leading CAFOD’s overall fundraising strategy. You will be analytical and strategic, and have experience in developing long-term strategies and in implementing new initiatives.
You will have experience of securing 5 and 6-figure gifts, take a proactive approach to managing performance and developing the team, can motivate others and lead the way in building successful partnerships with donors.
You will be a confident, creative and convincing communicator, able to facilitate discussion, articulate the values and principles of international development and put these in context for supporters.
Sensitive to the values, beliefs and modus operandi of the Catholic community, you will have the ability to advocate effectively for CAFOD directly with individuals for whom global justice is integral to their faith.
