Head of Programme Development & Funding
Salary: From £45,000 negotiable (pending a pay review in April 2013)
Based: SE1 7JB
Contract: Permanent
Closing date: 3 February 2013
Job profile
CAFOD, one of the UK’s leading international aid agencies, is currently looking for an ambitious institutional funding specialist to grow and diversify our donor funding base through spearheading our programme development and funding strategy. This is an exciting and challenging opportunity to contribute to our efforts to deliver real change for the world’s poorest and most disadvantaged people. We have an ambitious ten-year strategic framework to drive forward our programmes. Delivering a step change in institutional funding growth is key to its success. This is where you come in.
Job role
Based in London, you will lead the development, ownership-building, promotion and implementation of our programme funding strategy, enabling our staff and partners across Asia, Africa and Latin America and in Europe to build strong relationships with international donors to secure funding that increases the quality and impact of our development, humanitarian and advocacy programmes in pursuit ofJust One World. You will lead an established team of 12 staff to work collaboratively across CAFOD to develop and respond to opportunities for programme funding and equip programme colleagues to plan, monitor and report on our use of such funds. You will play a key role in developing our strategic thinking on the role of programme funding within our corporate growth plan.
Your profile
With proven success in identifying and leading new funding development opportunities, particularly in developing strategies for accessing large-scale, consortia-based institutional donor funding, you will have an demonstrable track record of having managed teams to meet annual income targets of over £20 million and of developing and maintaining strong relationships with institutional donors at senior levels, particularly within DFID and the EC. You will match this with the skills and commitment to bring cross-organisational teams together to ensure that we maximise our impact through programme funding opportunities. But most important will be your ability to enthuse your colleagues – to foster innovation and entrepreneurship, and support them in harnessing many of our strongest partnerships to deliver and demonstrate concrete results for some of the world’s poorest communities.
