Congo Crisis - latest updates
CAFOD partners are helping thousands of people suffering in eastern Democratic Republic of Congo
Renewed fighting in the region between Congolese government troops and rebels has left at least 250,000 people homeless.
CAFOD has distributed shelter materials, cooking equipment and clothing to more than 45,750 people forced to flee their homes because of fighting so far, and plans to reach a further 8,500 people in the coming weeks.
CAFOD's partners are also providing medicines to hospitals and health centres in the region, piping drinking water from natural springs and building latrines that will assist 43,000 people.
CAFOD is also providing medical care for women who have been sexually attacked.
