Despite being almost four times bigger than the UK, only four per cent of land is good for cultivating crop - much of the country is extremely dry.
HIV medicine is free, but access is still a problem, and the country struggles to cope with large numbers of children orphaned by AIDS - for example, an estimated 40,000 children in the Diocese of Moshi alone.
We provide drought-resistant crops and water points for vulnerable communities, as well as support for community health workers and care for children affected by HIV.
