CRS Afghanistan works to improve women’s livelihoods by giving grants to women-managed businesses and enterprises

It also works to support women in the community by training them in food processing techniques which can be done on a small scale at home, such as jam and juice making.

In this way, produce which has a short season is preserved for the remaining months of the year, and can also be sold in local shops.

Women also have the opportunity to take part in literacy and numeracy trainings so that they can read recipes and account for supplies and sales.
