Make a tribute which transforms lives with CAFOD's Candlelight Funds

Donate in memory of a loved one to CAFOD, and you can give them a special tribute through our Candlelight Funds scheme

Many choose in memoriam giving to charity as a way to remember someone special, while helping to build a brighter future for those living in poverty.

With this in mind, CAFOD has created Candlelight Funds - to offer you a meaningful and enduring remembrance.

Grow a lasting tribute

All contributions to your fund support the work of CAFOD and our partners so, by celebrating one very special life, you are helping thousands more worldwide.

You can set up your fund over the phone or via email. We will send you a pack with everything you need to tell your friends and family about the Candlelight Fund - plus a few fundraising ideas to inspire you.

Just as we light a candle in memory of a loved one, making a donation to the Candlelight Fund is a special way to remember and honour them.

Family, friends and colleagues can all support the fund in their own ways - whether they choose to donate on special anniversaries or by skydiving for charity!

There is no right or wrong way to make your fund grow - you can do as much or as little as you like. We will keep track of donations made to your Candlelight Fund and update you on its progress.

We will also let you know about the amazing work being done in your loved one’s name.

If you have any questions, or would like to set up a Candlelight Fund, please call Beth Brook on 020 7095 5525 or email candlelight@cafod.org.uk

A mother's gift
In memory of her son Jamie, Anne Shaw-Kennedy supports CAFOD on a monthly basis

Anne Shaw-Kennedy lost her beloved only child Jamie to anorexia.

As a photographer, Jamie saw the effects of poverty in Pakistan.

He was very conscious of other people’s needs - a young man of great humanity and compassion.

In his memory, Mrs Shaw-Kennedy supports CAFOD on a monthly basis.

She says: "I am trying to help other people and to build something true of out this tragic and unnecessary death.

"I think it is a brilliant idea and a wonderful way of commemorating Jamie, and others."
