Our Urban Programme in Brazil was a four year project in Brazil to improve quality of housing and basic services for low-income families in shanty towns and tenement blocks of São Paulo.

Evaluation: The integrated community HIV and AIDS programme (with Comic Relief)

The Integrated Community HIV and AIDS programme began in August 2008 and was completed in July 2011. The overall goal of the project was to provide adults and children affected by HIV and AIDS in Dar-es-Salaam, Tanzania with HIV prevention education, treatment, care and support through local community based interventions in order to improve their quality of life.

Evaluation: IFS programme in South Kivu DRC (co-funded by EC)

The programme ‘Development of a civil society network for conflict transformation in the Archdiocese of Bukavu, DRC’ was implemented by three CAFOD partners, the Association of the Central African Episcopal Conferences (ACEAC) Justice and Peace Commission, Caritas Bukavu and Centre Olame between September 2009 and September 2012. The programme aimed to enable and empower Church-based actors in South Kivu to prevent re-emerging conflict through enhanced field-based political analysis and early warning systems. It was co-funded by the EU and the evaluation took place in May 2011.

Evalutaion: Ethiopia building resilient pastoralist communities (BRPC)

The Building Resilient Pastoralist Communities (BRPC) project was managed by a consortium of CAFOD, Trocaire, SCIAF and Cord-aid and implemented by six Ethiopian partner organisations.

Evaluation: Psychosocial Support and Community Cohesion Programme in Rwanda

Shortly after the genocide of approximately 800,000 Tutsis in Rwanda in 1994 CAFOD started to provide humanitarian aid and psychological assistance to the deeply affected survivors, through the provision of technical and financial support to several local partner organisations.
