Press release: Catholic aid network tells G20 "it is the right of all human beings to live free from hunger"

In a new briefing report launched in the run-up to this year’s G20 summit in Mexico, development agency networks Caritas Internationalis and CIDSE are telling world leaders to act on hunger.

This is our first big chance, as part of theEnough Food for Everyone IF…campaign, to get the UK government to tackle global hunger.

We’ve got till 15 March - just before the UK budget – to convince Chancellor George Osborne to:

• deliver enough life-saving aid to stop children dying and help the poorest families feed themselves
• get big companies to spill the beans on dodging tax in poor countries, so that millions of people can free themselves from hunger

Religious orders lobby parliament to call on MPs to end global hunger

Hundreds of members of religious orders, priests and lay associates are preparing to meet their MPs on Wednesday 15 May to push for action on global hunger in a mass lobby organised by CAFOD as part of the Enough Food for Everyone IF campaign.

CAFOD's response to David Cameron’s announcement on the G8 today

CAFOD joined other charities in this response to David Cameron’s announcement on the G8 today. The food and nutrition summit is a great chance to champion aid and tackle the root causes of hunger and malnutrition such as land grabbing and biofuels. Cracking down on tax dodging and pushing for greater transparency will also help poor countries feed their people.
