Tens of thousands of families in the developing world will get access to clean water and improved sanitation to help prevent life-threatening diseases thanks to the match funding from the UK government for all public donations to CAFOD’s annual Lent appeal.

ITV News at Ten anchorwoman and journalist Julie Etchingham is editing the 1st December issue of influential Catholic news and current affairs publication The Tablet, making her the first guest editor since its inception in 1840. Julie, a lifelong supporter of the aid agency CAFOD, took the helm of the weekly Catholic publication this week to mark the culmination of a yearlong celebration of the charity's anniversary year.
