Don’t drop the ball: Over 10,000 cards go to Osborne!
On a seasonally cold Monday morning on 28 November, CAFOD Director, Chris Bain alongside CAFOD supporters and staff came together outside 11 Downing Street to present Don’t Drop the Ball action cards to George Osborne.

Durban COP17: Crunch time for climate talks?

Earlier this year, CAFOD supporters lobbied their MPs on the UK Bribery Act, which faced long delays and fears of dilution as a result of intense corporate lobbying of government.
Now, after months of delay, the government has revealed the Act will finally come into force in July this year – a major triumph in the fight against bribery and corruption and their devastating effects on the world’s poorest people.

Climate finance: You asked, the EU listened
In the run up to the international climate change talks in Cancun last year, you took action to demand more information for the world’s poorest. You called on UK Chancellor George Osborne to push the EU to open up about the money pledged to help poor countries cope with climate change. Thanks to your efforts, the EU opened up with a new annual report, the ‘Fast Start Finance Report’. During the Cancun talks, they published the first of these reports, which gave extra details about the €2.2 billion the EU mobilised to combat climate change throughout 2010.
