Make a tribute which transforms lives with CAFOD's Candlelight Funds
Make a tribute which transforms lives with CAFOD's Candlelight Funds

Over the years, many people have chosen to pay tribute to someone special by making gifts in their memory to CAFOD. With this in mind, we have created Candlelight Funds - to offer you a meaningful and enduring remembrance

Remember someone special and help build a brighter future. At your request, we can set up a Candlelight Fund as a lasting tribute to your loved one.

All contributions to your fund will be used to support the work of CAFOD and our partners throughout the developing world and in areas affected by disaster. So by celebrating one very special life, you’ll be touching thousands more throughout the world.

Setting up a Candlelight Fund is easy. You can set up your fund over the phone, via email or by returning the form attached to our information leaflet.

We’ll send you a pack containing everything you need to tell your friends and family about the Candlelight Fund and a few fundraising ideas to help inspire you.

Growing into a lasting tribute

Just as we light a candle in memory of a loved one, making a donation to the Candlelight Fund is a special way to remember and honour them.

Family, friends and colleagues can all support the fund in their own ways - whether they choose to donate on special anniversaries or by skydiving for charity!

There’s no right or wrong way to make your fund grow you can do as much or as little as you like.

We will keep track of donations made to your Candlelight Fund and update you on its progress. We will also let you know about the amazing work that’s being carried in your loved one’s name.

A mother’s gift of remembrance

Nine years ago, Anne Shaw-Kennedy lost her beloved only child, Jamie Ballestero, to anorexia. Jamie was a photographer and wanted to be a photo-journalist, having seen the effects of poverty in Pakistan.

He was very conscious of other people’s needs; a young man of great humanity and compassion.

I am trying to help other people and to build something true of out this tragic and unnecessary death. I think it is a brilliant idea to set up Candlelight Funds and a wonderful way of commemorating Jamie’s, and other’s lives…I am sure Jamie would approve

Anne Shaw-Kennedy

In memory of Jamie, Mrs Shaw-Kennedy supports CAFOD on a monthly basis as a way of helping people facing deprivation and injustice.

We would like to thank everyone who chooses to remember a special person in this special way. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.
