'Here's my card' is about the people behind small businesses. The millions of men and women across the world who gain dignity, security and confidence through their market stall or coffee harvest.

Small businesses are a big opportunity for development. They can lift millions of vulnerable people out of poverty, provide a safety net in tough economic times and are the lynchpin of many poor countries' economies.

But people who run small businesses need special support. Practical support like good roads in rural areas so they can reach markets easily; but also long term help like good health, education and training.

The UK government can support small businesses through our overseas aid and policies that actively support their needs and interests. Call on Andrew Mitchell, Secretary of State for International Development, to act today.
