Getting sponsored the easy way
Read our top tips for sponsorship - everything you need to make your fundraising a success
To make sure all your training and preparation for your event have been worthwhile, think ahead.
- Set yourself a target and tell people how much you are aiming to raise
- Make sure you have a sponsorship page on Just Giving, which allows your supporters to Gift Aid their donations
- Ask your employer to match the money you raise. Many companies have a matching scheme
It only takes a few minutes to create a Just Giving sponsorship page - making it so much easier for your friends and family to sponsor you, and add messages of support.
The service is easy and secure - and extremely cost-effective for CAFOD, because all administration costs are provided by Just Giving.
It also makes life easier for you too , as you don't have any cash or cheques to chase after your event!
- Start early! Raising sponsorship can take time; so the more time you give yourself the better
- Ask everybody - the worst they will say is "no"
- Use your friends and family to collect sponsorship for you
- Promote your efforts in newsletters - parish, school, work - and the local press
- Be prepared to tell people a little about what CAFOD does
- Contact your local CAFOD office in advance so we can tell everybody
Whatever you are doing, remember we can help
