Football fundraising
Many of CAFOD’s partners around the world use football in development: to bring communities together, to foster leadership and to teach values that will help people to overcome poverty.
Here are some football fundraising ideas that you could try to support such projects, and some top tips to help you kick it off!
Hold your own mini World Cup!
Get sponsored to organise a tournament between friends, schools, rival companies or parishes! Each team could represent a country in the World Cup!
Penalty shoot out Show off your football skills in a sponsored shoot out.
Design your own football strip Feeling creative? Hold a competition to design a ‘Team CAFOD’ football kit and ask people to donate to take part.
World Cup party Host a fundraising party for football matches and sell refreshments and charge for entry to raise money.
Five- a- side football Challenge your friends and family to a football tournament and have each team pay to play.
Fancy dress football Turn a regular game of football into something special with costumes. Why not have a fancy dress theme to match the country flag or culture of the teams taking part in the World Cup? Encourage everyone to raise money or pay to wear the costume and play.
