Friday Self-Denial
For many years, supporters in parishes throughout England and Wales have denied themselves luxuries on Fridays, giving the money they save to CAFOD
This may happen every week, every month, or during Lent or Advent - and the money they save is given to CAFOD to fund a wide range of work in poor communities
Over the years, Friday Self-Denial has raised hundreds of thousands of pounds for CAFOD’s work overseas.
It is a great way to show solidarity with those living in poverty and is also a good way to remind ourselves of the luxuries we take for granted.
If you would like to participate in Friday Self-Denial, you can:
- order some collection envelopes or boxes by emailing resources@cafod.org.uk
- combine Friday Self-Denial with other activities such as prayer or liturgy - see CAFOD's worship resources
- fill in the Gift Aid slip on each envelope you return, making your gift to CAFOD bigger at no cost to yourself!
