East Africa Crisis: nine months on

In the nine months since we launched our appeal, you’ve raised more than £4.9 million, helping us reach more than 250,000 people.

How your money has helped>>

Thanks to your generosity, we are:

• providing emergency food aid
• improving water supplies
• supporting pastoralists, who rely on livestock for a living
• helping people rebuild their lives for the long term

CAFOD’s Fergus Conmee said: “We have been overwhelmed by the compassion of Catholics in England and Wales. Their generosity has made a huge difference to the lives of thousands of people. Although the most recent rains were better in most areas, the crisis is not yet over. We will continue to provide food and water in remote communities where it’s urgently needed – but we are also helping people to find new ways of making a living, and to cope better with future droughts.”
