Fighting urban HIV

Puerta Abierta focuses on HIV and AIDS. Established with the support of the Vincentian fathers in San Pedro Sula, Honduras’ second largest city, it is located in one of the worst centres for HIV infection in Central America

It supports people living with HIV and AIDS with legal advice, counselling, self-help groups, a health clinic and a pharmacy.

It also provides training for volunteers to help them support people living with HIV and AIDS. It aims to raise awareness.
