Get down to business: Small message, big thanks

Our ‘Get down to business ’ campaign has now closed with more than 16,000 actions taken - thank you!

Since January, we have been calling for the UK government to back small businesses in developing countries by putting them at the heart of aid and policy making.

Thousands of you across the country have stood in solidarity with businesses like Amparo’s in Colombia, and have taken action by signing cards and holding events in schools and parishes.

We’re currently counting all your actions and will hand them in to International Development Secretary, Andrew Mitchell, in September. We’ll keep you updated on what the government says in response as soon as we hear.

Your actions; your successes

The action you take makes a difference. Your campaigning successes are well documented - from calling for a worldwide ban of landmines to lobbying on the UK Climate Change Bill. More recently, we’ve seen how the government has listened to you, in David Cameron calling for UK companies to open up their books on payments they make to governments overseas. Your voice was also instrumental in the recent triumph in the fight against corruption .

Don’t drop the ball

Our new climate justice campaign ‘Don’t drop the ball ’ has just launched! Climate change threatens to push people who already live in a precarious position over the edge. We’re asking the UK government to help people in developing countries adapt to climate change by providing money for the long term and to ensure it gets to the people who need it most.

Remind the UK government: don't drop the ball on climate change
