Tutela Legal is a human rights organisation run by the Archdiocese of San Salvador. It has a team of lawyers and educators who work with low-income groups and individuals to defend their rights and get better access to justice.

Over the last ten years, Tutela Legal has carried out a series of exhumations of mass graves. It has played a leading role in raising awareness about the human rights atrocities of the civil war and calling for an end to the culture of impunity amongst the Salvadoran armed forces.
