A family-friendly Peak District fundraising event in which we walk together in solidarity with our poorest brothers and sisters around the world, supporting the work of CAFOD
The trek takes place on Bank Holiday (Monday, May 5), and is to be led by Bishop John Rawsthorne who will begin the event at 10.00am with an opening prayer.
You can join hundreds of other participants in walking either five, ten, or 15 miles around the picturesque Rivelin and Redmires Reservoirs in the Peak District.
The trek has more than 40 years of history raising money for Christian Aid and CAFOD. During that time thousands of people have walked the walk, made new friends, and raised many thousands of pounds.
All routes start and finish at St. Luke's Church, Lodge Moor, Sheffield.
The five-mile walk, suitable for families with young children, goes to Rivelin Dams, Wyming Brook and back to Lodge Moor.
The ten-mile walk extends the five-mile walk to include the Redmires Reservoirs, while the 15-mile walk leaves the ten-mile walk route at Redmires Reservoirs and returns to Lodge Moor via Stanage Edge and Houndkirk Moor.
The trek is fully marshalled, with toilet facilities, first aid and refreshment points, and there is plenty of parking near to the start.
If you would like to help or be involved, but the Trek is a step too far, all volunteers are gratefully received.
Please take part if you can - every step we take together ensures that CAFOD can continue its vital long-term development work in some of the world's poorest communities.
