Actor Gerard Kearns is joining CAFOD’s campaign to strengthen the UK Climate Change Bill - and urges everyone to join him in the fight for justice in a new video
The 23-year-old actor, best known for his role in Channel 4’s ‘Shameless’, says: "As part of doing my bit for climate change I'm making this pledge: to turn off the lights in my house, to turn off the taps when I'm brushing my teeth and to use water more carefully.”
Gerard is no stranger to campaigning. In 2005 he marched to Make Poverty History in Edinburgh, and he joined thousands of CAFOD campaigners at the World Can’t Wait event on the banks of the river Thames in 2007.
Actor Gerard Kearns pledges to do his bit for climate change, and promises to lobby his MP to make their own climate justice pledge - vote for a stronger UK Climate Change Bill

As Gerard has, you too can make a pledge for climate justice – for example by promising to use less energy or water or cutting down on car journeys.
By sending your pledge to your MP, you can challenge him or her to vote for a stronger Climate Change Bill.
Individual actions taken together can have a powerful impact but, without laws that commit the UK to reducing emissions, these promises will not be enough.
Gerard adds: “I've made my pledge. I'm gonna send it off to my MP and ask them to make their pledge, and if we all do our bit we can try to make a difference."
