CAFOD volunteers – we salute you!

A CAFOD volunteer goes beyond the call of duty! ["CAFOD"]

Volunteers are at the heart of our work. Talented, generous and committed, they give up their time and energy to make a difference.

In 1960, we were founded by volunteers; a group of inspirational Catholic women who decided to put their faith into practice and do something about injustice.

Through the decades we’ve been honoured to work with people who volunteer their time, energy and skills to fight poverty with CAFOD.

Our volunteers raise funds, rally supporters, organise events, count donations, write letters, climb mountains, bake cakes... you name it, they do it!

Overseas, we support thousands of awe-inspiring volunteers who work tirelessly to improve life in their communities, sometimes in dangerous situations, often against the odds.

Put simply, we think volunteers are amazing! Thank you to all the volunteers, past and present, who make our work possible.
