The Bethlehem Arab Society for Rehabilitation (BASR) runs community-based day care centres for disabled people.

These help integrate children with special needs into the community and into mainstream schools, and provide training to improve behaviour, language and learning.

During the violence of the intifada, BASR has treated people with head, chest and stomach injuries and has followed up with longer-term rehabilitation for those who need it.
