Santiago de Compostela 2012
Dust off those walking boots and take some time for reflection and a sense of tranquillity.
Pilgrimage dates:
2nd – 10th June (register by 4th May) and
15th – 23rd September (register by 3rd August) 2012
Training weekend: 5th – 6th May 2012
Have you always wanted to walk part of the ancient pilgrim route? We will be introducing CAFOD supporters to form a group and take on the challenge together.
Minimum sponsorship: £500
The ‘route of the stars’, named so because it lies beneath the Milky Way, takes pilgrims along the beautiful and peaceful countryside across the north of Spain, ending at the cathedral of Santiago de Compostela. The route has existed for over a thousand years and offers a physical, mental and spiritual challenge to those who take it on.
We are encouraging supporters to join together and walk the final 100 miles of the Camino de Santiago de Compostela, on two dates in 2012. By walking in community, we hope you will be able to share the journey and your reflections along the way. We can also help those who chose to do the pilgrimage on their own, or at different times.
CAFOD does not organise this trip, and you will be responsible for planning your pilgrimage, but we are here to help with plenty of support and advice, including a training weekend in the Peak District.
