Meet Gerard

I joined CAFOD in October 2025, just as Pope Leo XIV released his first Apostolic Exhortation, Dilexi Te, a beautiful reflection on God’s love for those who are poor. Its message — to recognise the dignity of the most vulnerable and marginalised — provides a powerful guide for my work.

As CAFOD’s representative in the Diocese of Plymouth, I manage and coordinate our fundraising, campaigning, and education initiatives alongside our inspiring network of volunteers. Together, we support Catholic parishes, schools, and communities across Cornwall, Devon, and Dorset — helping them hear the cry of the earth and the cry of the poor, and respond by putting their faith into action.

CAFOD’s work is needed now more than ever. Our global family is facing enormous challenges — yet we meet them with hope, prayer, and action, thanks to the generosity and commitment of our Catholic community.
