Prayers to use when an emergency strikes.
We were deeply saddened to hear of the powerful earthquake in Morocco and the flooding in Libya, both of which have devastated many lives.
It is now estimated that more than 2,900 people have been killed by the earthquake, which struck Morocco on Friday 8 September.
The earthquake is the deadliest in 60 years, affecting villages and communities in the High Atlas mountains, south of Marrakech.
Many roads are blocked by collapsed buildings which is making the rescue effort increasingly challenging.
Thanks to your support, we are sending £30,000 to a local partner, Caritas Morocco to enable them to adapt their usual work and support the families affected by the earthquake.
Libya floods
In Libya, thousands of people have been reported dead after a powerful storm led to devastating floods and the collapse of several bridges. The Red Crescent has said up to 10,000 people are missing as a result of the flooding. News reports suggest much of the city of Derna, which is home to around 100,000 people, is under water.
Thanks to your generosity, we have already sent £50,000 to a trusted partner responding in Libya and supporting communities who are affected by the floods.
